ProHorizons Launches New Web Site

Los Altos, California – June 10, 2005 – Today, ProHorizons launched a complete redesign of its core web site at www.prohorizons.com. This site redesign replaces the old site that was launched in February of 2003 and served well in providing ProHorizons a strong presence over the Internet. The new site has heightened interactivity, improved navigation and a fresh, refined look.

In the brainstorming sessions prior to the redesign, ProHorizons isolated several goals they wanted to achieve. John Ezell, President of ProHorizons, was able to give us details regarding these goals, “There were five goals we identified as essential elements of the redesign. The first was shifting our overall message from being a west coast firm to our expansion into a nationwide brokerage and consulting firm. The key component of this message is the interactive national map that we have placed on the home page and throughout the site. This allows any interested buyer or seller access to their region of interest with a single click.”

The second goal was to establish the ability to create dialogue through the site. “We field dozens of questions a week over the phone and we wanted to provide the same opportunity through the site. The new ‘Ask Us a Question’ submission box on the home page and in the seller section allows anyone to ask a question of their direct local representative and receive local market expertise regarding their inquiry. We see this as a real turnkey measure to increase dialogue with our prospective clients.”

Third, was the goal of establishing a Resource Center. In the new design, this is home to ProHorizons’ new book, Successful Practice Sales, the downloadable appendix materials from the book, and ProHorizons’ popular seminar, How to Sell, Buy or Merge Your Accounting and Tax Practice. John added, “There is a shopping cart interface for the book, there is a download section for anyone who has purchased the book and would like electronic versions of the appendix materials and there is a registration interface for the seminar. Down the road the resource center will expand to include copies of articles we have published and free white papers on a variety of topics relevant to our clients.”

The fourth goal ProHorizons identified was improving navigation throughout the site. John expanded on this by stating, “We wanted a visitor to be able to reach any element in the site within two clicks. The key to this was the addition of a drop down menu bar. In addition, several of the links to key elements—practices for sale, registration and request forms, buying the book, registering for a seminar—are more prevalent throughout the site. We have also added content and links within the content to give the casual visitor more information up front regarding which pages they may find of interest.

“Our fifth goal was simply to keep the good elements of the old site design while giving the site a more sophisticated presentation. The ‘Get Notified’ email submission box and the prospective buyer registration process are critical elements for any potential buyer that wishes to receive initial notification of any practices for sale. In addition, we held on to some of the very substantial content from the original site that highlights our services, capabilities, and corporate culture.”

In closing John added, “We couldn’t be happier about the final implementation of the site. It is perfectly in line with our desire to continuously improve our presentation and interface with our clients and potential clients. Ken Berry, who developed and implemented the web site redesign, did a wonderful job of meeting all of our goals.”
